Carpenter + Contractors, Nassau and Suffolk
Custom homerenovations onLong Island.
Over 50 years, one rule: don't cut corners.
Kitchens, baths, basements, extensions, dormers, and custom carpentry, from the father and son company still rebuilding Long Island.
Over 50 years
It started with boats.
In the early 1950s, a young Pat Cullen was building small and large yachts, and asking himself whether there was a better approach. He dreamed of a business of his own, building homes and improving home reconstruction on Long Island.
Over 50 years later, the company is still rebuilding Long Island. It is a good deal bigger than it was then, but hands-on service and quality work are still its most valued asset.
“It's called P. Cullen and Son because I'm the son.”

Before and after
A deck built like a house.
A raised beach house deck from our recent work. In March it was worn wood on open posts. By June: gray composite boards, white vinyl rails, lattice skirting with storage doors built in, and stairs with recessed riser lights.

Case study
A whole home rebuild.
One colonial, September 2024 to spring 2025: vinyl off and cedar shake on, a new portico and covered porch, and a primary bath rebuilt from the studs with a glass shower, brass fixtures, and paneled walls.
